Change Manager

To drive and support the business change activities required to underpin Shell’s IT simplification
agenda. Shell is focused on aligning and simplifying IT systems to increase customer satisfaction and
business value which will drive significant and ongoing change in all parts of the business, supporting
the business’ growth agenda. Shell is building an inhouse IT Transformational Change Capability that
will partner closely with each area of the business to drive and embed IT change. This JG3 role,
reporting to a JG2 or JG1 Transformational Change Manager, will reside within the Group CIO
function. The role is delivery focused and will lead IT-driven business change in the HR Journey to
World Class (HRJtWC) Programme environment.
The primary purpose of the BRIL role is to:
o Engage with senior business and IT leaders and executives to drive the HRJtWC change
agenda in HR Operations (1200 people, 50% of HR function) & HR Remuneration &
Benefits (HRR)
o Act as gateway between project and businesses/countries to support execution of
Change & Engage (C&E) activities:
▪ Develop and ensure delivery of Change & Engage plan
▪ Identify and map stakeholders and set up framework for regular 2-way
communications and engagement
▪ Establish the Change Network. Support and guide Change Agents.
▪ Ensuring E2E Change Impact assessment is completed by relevant CoE’s,
businesses and countries and mitigation delivered in time
• Work on HRJtWC project as BRIL to:
o Drive leader-led change for the HRJtWC Program in HR Operations & HRR Leadership
▪ Deliver regular engagements with HR Operations and HRR HRLTs.
▪ Deliver Program agenda and activities with HR Ops and HRR HRLTs, aiming at
both behavior and culture changes.
o Prepare and engage the HR Operations and HRR Communities for Workday
deployment and other Programme activities
▪ Establish Regional Coordinators’ support for each region and specific
workstreams, providing coordination and alignment (located in Krakow, Kuala
Lumpur & Manilla)
▪ Advise, coach, manage and mentor Regional Coordinators
▪ Re-confirmed HR Change Agents network in place, managed through Regional
▪ Develop and deploy Change & Engage (C&E) Plan: Process Localization, Testing,
Capability Building & Engagement interventions planned and delivered
▪ Sustain a high engagement level with Regional Coordinators and Change
Agents via cadence meeting with them.
o Lead Testing and Capability Building for HR Operations
o Deploy measurable change management interventions and wider transformational
change initiatives, usually in an Agile context
o Equip the business with the skills to better manage and sustain change
o Build or help build change management and integrated transformational change plans
and manage delivery against these
o Build and manage change management deliverables and activities to a business-ready
o Ensure that the appropriate change management tools and methods are applied to IT
o Partner with other parts of the organisation (IC, OD, Learning) to deliver high quality
change management interventions
o Work with colleagues to build the Transformational Change capability
o Develop agile mindsets and behaviours

• Reports to Transformational Change Manager, dotted line to Change & Engage Program Lead
(in global HRJtWC Program) and Global Operations Support Lead (in HR Operations)
• Good knowledge of leading and managing technology-led change and technology adoption
• Expertise in change management methods and their application
• Ability to translate centrally development material, join the dots quickly and work with / lead a
network of change agents and co-ordinators to ensure all the required change and project
activities are executed locally.
• Understanding of Agile and its impact on the management of change
• Proven track record of building strong stakeholder relationships at different organisational
levels - Ability to deal with stakeholder on different levels: from senior leaders (EVP/VP),
through mid-level management, specialists and operational staff
• Able to conduct detail change impact assessments and work with the business to drive action
• Able to produce business-facing deliverables and activities to drive and sustain change
• Resilient, flexible and able to manage challenge and resistance
• Results/outcomes oriented, business value focused
• Confident and able to work in high-ambiguity work environment
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills
