Jobdescription
The Software Test Engineer is active on the validation/verification part for the engine and aftertreatment software. The functional areas of the engine software, wherein these activities are conducted, vary with the project needs. The Software Test Engineer is able to work in a broad field and as such is not limited to a specific functional area. You can rely on a senior engineer who is the specialist in his/her functional area.
 
The software specifications are made in Simulink based on higher level textual requirements accompanied with an occasional model. Test designs are made against the requirements on engine controller level. The test cases are created in HP QualityCenter and the tests are executed on hardware-in-the-loop systems.
 
You are working on multiple projects and you frequently discuss your work with the corresponding senior engineers, test coordinator and the project lead engineers. In this function you report to the Supervisor of the Software Engineering group within the department of Engine Management Systems and functionally to the project lead engineer(s).
 
Job requirements
Technical education on Bachelor/Master level in Mechanics, Automotive, Electronics, Computer Science or comparable • Knowledge of embedded software design processes (according the V-cycle) • Experience in embedded software testing (minimum of 2-3 years of test experience) • Knowledge of test techniques (test certificate, ISTQB is an asset) • Experience with requirement management • Experience with HP QualityCenter • Understanding of Matlab/Simulink • Experience with process supporting tools like defect management, calibration and programming tools • Knowledge of model-based design techniques is preferred • Experience in writing test scripts (for automation) in Python

The Engine Management Systems department is responsible for the development of the Engine Control Unit, both software and hardware, of engines. The department is divided in three groups: Software Definition, Software Engineering and Hardware. The candidate will be working in the Software Engineering group.
